Władysław Borzęcki's Art Gallery is located in Sromowce Niżne, Poland, at the foot of the Pieniny Mountains, about two hundred metres from the banks of the Dunajec River - one of the most picturesque areas in Poland. The Gallery started in the 1970's as an art studio where Władysław Borzęcki used to spend lots of his time creating a variety of sculptures in wood. After his death, his family decided to create an art gallery named after the artist. The permanent collection includes mostly sculptures in wood by Władysław Borzęcki and some of his early art works in plaster and mixed media, as well as some works of art created by his wife Alicja.
More sculptures in wood created by Władysław Borzęcki may be admired also in the parish church in Sromowce Niżne (the figure of crucified Christ over the altar and the Stations of the Cross) and in the local old Gothic church (1513) that, thanks to the efforts of father Marek Kądzielawa (the parish priest), has been converted into The Gallery of Pieniny Artists. Additional art works of Borzęcki are also on display at the local "Hotel nad Przełomem" [Hotel over the Gorge], thanks to the initiative of the proprietors Grażyna and Robert Miś.
Over the years, Władysław Borzęcki's works found their way to both state-owned (e.g. Muzeum Tatrzańskie [Museum of the Tatras] in Zakopane) and private collections in Poland and around the world (Great Britain, Australia, the United States, Canada, Bulgaria, France, the Netherlands, and Germany).
